Urban Revival

Urban Revival began as a delightful challenge – a home with a rich history of diverse renovations that left it lacking a unified identity. Every room presented a unique set of openings, floor surfaces, and styles, resulting in confined spaces that failed to seamlessly connect. The homeowners sought a complete renovation to instill a sense of modern simplicity while fostering a cohesive feel throughout.

Working hand in hand with the homeowners, we embarked on a journey to revitalize the home. The entire main level underwent a radical transformation, breaking down walls to create a large, open-plan living space. The existing kitchen, once tucked away in a corner, found a central and illuminated home, with large south-facing windows inviting natural light to dance throughout the entire space.

The new layout not only opened up the living room, kitchen, dining room, and TV nook but also incorporated essential functional elements. A pantry space and a well-designed mudroom and powder room, cleverly nestled around exposed local brick, became integral design elements. The existing brick, with its weathered charm, added a unique patch to the modern canvas.

Ascending the stairs reveals a transformational retreat – the large primary suite. Bathed in natural light and adorned with natural materials, this space becomes a haven within the home. The design echoes the simplicity and modernity sought by the homeowners, creating a retreat that seamlessly aligns with the overall vision of Urban Revival.
