Let’s Design Something Meaningful—Together

Architecture should feel like a conversation: collaborative, thoughtful, and a little joyful.

You care deeply about your space—and so do I. At Commonality, I make architecture a conversation, not a process. We collaborate, think ahead, and create homes that feel thoughtful, personal, and purposeful for you, your community, and the planet.

Randi Thiebaut

Founder + Architect

I’m Randi—architect, husky mom, and tea enthusiast. I studied both architecture and interior design at Lawrence Technological University, then jumped into construction work to ground my design thinking in real-world building know-how. After returning home to northern Michigan, I sharpened my skills at a few local firms before launching Commonality Architecture in 2018. Why? Because I wanted to do architecture differently—more honest, more intentional, more collaborative. That drive still guides everything we build.

Every space tells a story. Let’s make yours unforgettable.

Let’s Connect

I keep my studio small so every project gets real attention—and to make the process more fun for everyone. I’m currently booking for summer 2026, so if this feels right, let’s talk about how we can create something timeless, together.

Tell me about your project—I’d love to hear what you’re imagining.
